South Milos and Kleftiko cruise

When the 'meltemi' starts blowing, it is better to stay South

Especially in the summer months, strong north winds, we call meltemi can blow very strong in the Cycladic islands. In this case, it is better to sail the south side of the island, where there are no waves, no risk of sea-sickness and plenty of beautiful places to visit, including Kleftiko which is a dream location even with the strongest of north winds.
This cruise is made as a replacement of our Discover Milos or Round of Milos & Poliegos catamaran cruise when the weather does not allow sailing the north and/or west side of the island. It is not available for booking online.

The cruise starts from the bay of Provatas at 10:30. If you have your own car or transportation and want to move independently we can meet in Provatas, Ayios Sostis beach, at 10:15am. Polco will also organize a transfer from Adamas. In this case meeting will be around 9:30am at the Polco spot in Adamas. You will be contacted by email with regards to the meeting location and details.

After setting sail we will make our first stop in Tsigrado, one of the islands' most famous beaches, largely because of the difficult access since to get there you have to climb down a rope and a 4 meter ladder! Tsigrado's crystal clear turquoise waters are amazing and offer beautiful snorkeling. After having some breakfast here we continue to the other side of the Tsigrado peninsula to visit Gerakas, one of the best beaches in Milos, accessible only by boat. Each stop is about ½ hour.

Next, we sail to Kleftiko which even in the strongest of winds provides excellent shelter. Here we will spend 2 1/2 hours swimming, snorkeling and after having lunch we will explore Kleftiko caves with our dinghy and take lovely souvenir photos. We make one last stop in the bay of Gerontas, an amazing landscape with a 10-meter-tall volcanic arch, and great rock diving spots!
